About me

Hello, my name is Mark and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia. I have been working in mental health for twenty years. I have raised five children and have a lot of life experience in addition to my professional training. My Bachelor's Degree is in Religious Studies and my Master's Degree is in Community Mental Health Counseling. I have two years of training in Christian Counseling where I was certified through my church.
My counseling approach is one of collaboration. We will work as a team and put our minds together to find solutions. Once the problem is identified we can come up with a set of steps with small goals along the way to achieve. When you achieve a goal we will make a new one to get you another step closer to your end goal and a successful/desired outcome. As part of the work we do I will likely assign homework to complete between sessions and sometimes I will challenge you with a therapeutic task. Part of your job in our work together is to be as open and honest with me as you can. If you are having a bad day I want to know about it. My role as a therapist is to listen to you in a non-judgmental way, provide unconditional support, and be genuine and authentic at all times. Together we will create a plan to tackle problems one by one. We will prioritize what is most urgent and start there. I believe people can/will get better when they work at it regardless of the challenge they face. I use elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Adlerian Psychology primarily when helping in addition to Spiritual Therapy for my Christian clients that request it. I am a natural encourager and believe in my client’s ability to improve.
Years of experience working with all age groups, in varied settings and diverse populations providing therapy for clients with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders has prepared me to help if given the chance.
I look forward to working with you!

He’s amazing! He listens, gets me on track, offers actionable items to actively work on before the next session. This is just what I need.

I feel it is a blessing that I found Mark given that I had reservations about doing therapy online. He has exceeded all my expectations and much more. Mark has a wealth of information and experience that has not only helped me but also my husband - I began individual therapy with Mark and this has morphed into helping us both. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and coupled with this are family issues we've addressed.

Mark has been an excellent therapist. I look forward to my sessions knowing that he's going to offer solid advice. He has made it easy for me to talk about my issues, and his question of what I get out of the relationships I'm in currently have helped me to set boundaries that I need in order to move forward.
