Marla Stamm, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 6 years of clinical experience. I graduated with a Master of Social work from the University of Southern Indiana. I have worked with the adult population in my career, assisting clients with depression, anxiety, substance abuse and addictions, relationship issues, and life changes.
I believe in a client centered approach to therapy, helping the client to identify changes needed, then assisting them with goal setting and the steps needed to accomplish those goals. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy to assist clients in achieving their desired changes as quickly as possible. Together we can develop a person centered treatment plan that you will help create, then we will revisit this plan often to check progress toward goals set.
It takes a great deal of courage to ask for help, congratulations for taking the first steps to change! As an experienced and compassionate therapist, I look forward to talking with you and helping you achieve the life changes you seek

Marla is a great listener. She takes the time to create a friendly environment and to send extra information if needed. She has a way of putting my reality into perspective and makes me reflect. I like that she challenges me.

Marla has been an absolute dream therapist. I was matched with Marla 6 months ago during a tough time. Straight away I could see she was compassionate all while being constructively challenging and proactive. Her regular check-ins and review of worksheets/homework not only shows she cares but also ensured I was continuing to develop practical strategies to deal with my anxiety. The skill set Marla has taught me works and it will continue to be used always even now that my sessions have ceased. I can not recommend Marla enough - truly an amazing counsellor and awesome human being!

Marla is the best therapist I've ever had. She is kind, supportive, and pushes you to the right direction. She puts your issues into perspective, without dismissing it. Most of all - you can feel she truly cares about you, and that's a therapist's true greatness.

I cannot say enough good things about Marla. I’ve been with her for a couple months now and she has enlightened me in so many ways. She truly understands me and what I need each session. She is always available in between sessions to talk and give me advice. I love that even when I’m having a very rough day and I message her, she puts me back into reality, offers guidance on what I can do to help with my anxiety and then tells me how great I’m doing and points out the steps I’m taking to get better. I truly love being Marla’s client and would recommend her to everyone!

Marla has educated, supported, held me accountable and has understood me in ways that makes me receptive to therapy. The algorithm worked - her personality, her approach, and her style meshes wonderfully with mine.
