Marsha Watkins, LPC
About me
I see counseling as a collaborative process in which my clients and I work together to promote feelings of hope, healing, and empowerment. This process is done by creating a safe and trusting environment in which the client and I work together to identify goals; improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; and create a sense of autonomy. I have experience helping clients of all ages in areas such as trauma, anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, family stress, and behavioral concerns.
I believe in approaching the counseling relationship in the way that best fits the needs of each individual client. I have received extra training in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Compassion Fatigue, and childhood and adult trauma processing.
I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Louisiana Tech University, and a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Louisiana Tech University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Louisiana.

Marsha is such a great counselor! She made me feel so comfortable from our first meeting and since then has helped me work through so many personal dilemmas. She's a great listener and encourager and is amazing at what she does.

Marsha has been amazing. I know we haven’t gotten to the part of work that she said we should start with (childhood) and I know we need to because it scares me. But she’s done this because she has taken the time to address current life issues I am dealing with. I have confidence we will get there, and am thankful for her patience and the fact that I don’t feel judged or less because of my lifestyle or word choices
