About me
It takes courage to take the first step toward the life where you are successful and thriving! I appreciate you taking the time to understand my background. With two and decades of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC-S, National Certified Counselor (NCC), and National Certified School Counselor (NCSC), in Texas, I provide counseling for individuals, couples, and families. I have a M. Ed from University of Houston-Victoria and a Bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Angelo State University. I strive to make my therapy environment genuine, respectful, positive and safe. I have worked with teens, parents, and adults working through life issues and my approach is solution focused, client centered and some Cognitive Behavioral Theory. In challenging beliefs and thoughts that may be unhelpful, I present different perspectives, behaviors, realities, and skills to improve a variety of issues. I believe clients possess the internal ability to improve their overall functioning in a productive and encouraging setting.
I will support you in getting where you want to be. Therapy can be a place for you to develop skills and feel heard. You are the biggest part of the therapy process as you are the expert in your life journey. Talking with Marshella is as comfortable and easy as speaking with a friend. She is objective and compassionate and validates my feelings. Her coping strategies and ideas are very helpful. It’s so nice having someone to talk to that is not in my personal circle, and will listen without judgement.

I've only had a few meetings with Marshella but I really really enjoy working with her. When talking to her, she feels so professional while also feeling like chatting with a friend. She genuinely listens, asks lots of questions for clarity, checks in on you in between meetings, and gives very constructive feedback. I have also enjoyed the homework assignments so far that she has given me. I look forward to seeing the positive changes and healing she helps me to achieve in the future.

Marshella was a listening ear when I needed it most. She gave me concrete assignments and lots of tools to learn how to love myself. She's been a steady and consistent supporter for me, and I'm so grateful to have been connected with her.

Marshella is a true gem. The impact she has left in my life will be something I remember. She listens and asks applicable follow up questions and really helps dig deeper than the surface. The strategies she suggests are thought out. When I tell stories or share experiences, you can tell she remembers every detail. I appreciate the times she’d check on me in between our meetings. She’d message me at least once every weekend. That’s something about her that stood out to me — which is that she truly cares. If you’re willing to help yourself, just know Marshella will be there to help catapult you even further to be the best version of yourself.
