Marva Duvall, LPCC
About me
I am licensed in Ohio with over 20 years of professional work experience both as a mental health service provider and a clinical educator. I started my counseling career as a multi-systemic therapist providing intensive family and individual services from 2002 to 2005. From 2006 to 2014, I provided clinical supervision for counseling students while pursuing my doctorate in Agency and Community Counseling. From 2018- 2023 I enjoyed working as a school-based therapist. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence & depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you possess many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. My approach to counseling is built on a Cognitive Behavioral model, your “thoughts, beliefs and attitudes” affects your “feelings” which influences your “behavior”. I am a strong believer in being solution-focused and learning ways to improve current challenges.
It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward a change. As your counselor, I will provide the support you’re seeking to work through your life challenges. I am here to empower you in that journey. What is most important, I understand the value of having someone to hear and really listen to your needs. I look forward to working with you.
