Dr. Marva Robinson, Psychologist
About me
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Missouri with 16 years of clinical experience. I have worked with individuals and groups around issues related to race-based stress and trauma, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, anxiety, and depression. I’ve worked in multiple settings including private practice, prisons, hospitals, community-based clinics, and schools. I absolutely love my career and would choose to do anything else!
I work with my patients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. Although it can be scary, and you’ve probably visited this website a dozen times before- just know I am here to support & empower you on that journey. It’s okay, not to be okay. It takes more courage to ask for help, than to suffer in silence. I applaud you for making it this far- and I hope you take another step further and schedule a session with me today.
I tend to lean towards a solution-focused, behavioral orientation. My goal is narrow down your treatment plan and start you on a path to wellness within the first few sessions. With skills and new tools, you'll be able to navigate life's journey as the ebbs and flows occur.

Dr Robinson has dug deeper than any therapist i've been too in person . She's been so intentional about our meetings and the direction of my healing plan. Ive learned so much from her that I will keep with me forever. I've gained so much perspective and I'm appreciative of all the work she's put into our sessions. Honestly would recommend her and her expertise 100 times over !

Dr. Robinson not only listened to my words but would also "listen" to my non verbal cues as well. She is extremely helpful in helping me see things from a different perspective and how to pinpoint where I have been successful in my own growth.

Very professional, and always provides helpful insight. She provides plenty of resources, and comes from a very neutral, clinical point of view while still being welcoming and creating a comfortable space.

Working with Dr. Robinson has been a refreshing experience during my mental health journey. I am grateful to have found someone with a combination of lived experience and formal training to guide me as I explore ways to cope with experiences of marginalization and build healthy relationships with myself and others.
