About me

I am an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker ) in Colorado with 10 years of professional work experience as a social worker and 4 years as a therapist. I have performed clinical work in various roles and areas: working with families involved in child welfare, supportive housing, homelessness, personality disorders, addiction, and chronic mental illness. My passion is in trauma resiliency . I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I am very open and genuine, empathetic and compassionate. I strongly believe in social justice and racial equity. As a white, cis-gendered, straight woman of European descent, I cannot understand what it is like to be a racial minority or a member of the LGBTQIA community. However, I strongly believe in creating equity for all marginalized groups and am curious to hear about your experiences and how they have shaped you. I am also experienced in working with neurodivergent individuals and believe that our diversity (race, gender, sex, age, ability, neurodivergence, ethnicity, culture, and more!) are what makes us function as a society. I am not religious myself, but I invite you to bring your beliefs and values into our work together and I will commit to honoring them.

I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention), MI (Motivational Interviewing), and SFBT (Solution Focused Brief Therapy) primarily. I try to help clients use their existing strengths to overcome obstacles and to help clients learn about how our past experiences and beliefs manifest in our present bodies, minds, feelings, and behaviors. I also use art, music, and movement as therapeutic interventions to help the body process trauma and overwhelming stressful experiences.

I commend you on your commitment to personal growth and would be honored to be part of your journey toward healing, resiliency, understanding, and living the fullest life possible.
