I am a New York State licensed clinical social work psychotherapist with post graduate training from an institute for psychotherapy in NYC. In addition, I am a trained life coach. I have a long career in private practice in New York and Florida as well as Rome, Italy where I lived for 12 years working specifically with the expat community. As a private practitioner, my work also entailed being an adjunct instructor, trainer, presenter, workshop leader and consultant. When one thinks about going into therapy, it is fraught with conflict and indecision about do I really need it, will it help, can I afford it and how do I choose a therapist? But once that decision is made, it can be freeing. It takes a great deal of strength and willingness to explore and understand oneself. But in doing so, one can gain insight, develop strategies and coping mechanisms to overcome one's issues. This is the path we would go on together.
My approach in dealing with clients is eclectic. I use a variety of different techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnotherapy, psycho dynamic, solution focused, client centered and mindfulness to name a few. I strongly believe that one modality does not work for everyone and it is incumbent upon me to discover the techniques that will help each individual and their needs. This is why my style of providing therapy is supportive and one where I tailor my interventions to match the unique qualities, beliefs and issues of each individual. With a variety of disciplines, I can help each individual create a clear vision of their future goals and develop their own resources and experiences to achieve those goals.

Dr. Mary has been exceptional in my journey through therapy. She listens carefully and attentively. Every time I'm speaking a mile a minute she has an amazing way of grasping all that I'm saying. The best part is I never feel judged by her especially since that it is one of my biggest issues. I feel safe with her.

I had no idea what to expect from therapy but I knew I needed help learning how to deal with the problems the pandemic and my husband's serious illness were throwing up. In just a few short weeks Mary has helped me to see life from a different, more beneficial angle. I am learning how to acknowledge my thoughts and worries but to not let them overwhelm me and as a result am feeling much calmer, positive and in control. Thanks so much, Mary.

I am so incredibly thankful to have worked with Mary in the past year and a half. She has been amazing at giving me advice and helping me deal with the anxiety I was getting over the pandemic/work stress/family stress. She is incredibly understanding, held me accountable and showed me lots of resources and strategies to help me go back to my normal self!
Thanks to Mary, I have developed the skills to deal with outside stresses and pressures in my own way. Thank you so much Mary!

I could not have asked for a better timing to have Mary as my counselor. As we continued in therapy, I appreciated the questions she asked. They guided me towards the right direction. When something hurtful happens to you, you can either take control of that situation or let it control you, and I am appreciative to have had crucial conversations with Mary to take ownership for my future happiness. The more vulnerability and honesty you express, the more you receive in return. I would recommend Mary to anyone. I also advise you ask the right questions so she understands your values and what you hope to achieve. Thank you Mary!

Mary has been very helpful to me; she helped me realize what I was dealing with and she gave me advice on how to cope. I’d recommend her to a friend. She’s been there for me anytime I needed her and I really appreciated the fact that I could reach her through text and not only during our live sessions.

Mary has been super wonderful, she has really helped me worked through traumas and collect my thoughts in terms of processing events that have happened to me. From when I started with her in the beginning of 2021 to now (4 months later), my out look on the world has really grown and my reality has completely changed in a really healthy way. I would very much recommend her and look forward to continuing my journey of healing with Mary as my therapist.

Mary is such a friendly and endearing woman. I thoroughly enjoyed my time getting to work with her the last few weeks. I came back home from a stressful international trip, and she really listened to me and provided a safe space for me to express myself. I would recommend Mary to everyone looking for support and a great person who will listen to everything and offer full love and compassion.
