Mary Slaton, LPC
About me
My name is Mary Slaton, LPC, NCC. I earned my counseling degree from Loyola in 2001, and my certification in meditation from Chopra Institute in 2021. When everything is aligned in our lives, we feel happy and fulfilled, but we all encounter obstacles. At times, we need encouragement and guidance to find our way back. Seeking counseling shows a belief in your ability to bring about positive change in your life.
I am here to assist you and encourage you as you explore alternatives that lead to the satisfying life you envision. I believe that we are goal-oriented, but we are sometimes unaware of how we're trying to gain that feeling of significance and satisfaction. Along the path to achieving your goals, it helps me to find out about the various areas of your life, such as social, spiritual, love, self, and work. As we explore the various areas of your life, we’ll discover patterns. As we uncover these, we can determine what is working for you, so we can explore ways of increasing these positive experiences in other areas of your life.
I believe people have the capacity for self-awareness and the ability to resolve their problems with support and assistance. So many people wander through life feeling like there's more or that things could be different, so thank you for taking that brave step toward setting the goals that will bring you the relief, happiness, and joy that we all seek.

I feel heard, seen, and accepted where I am at with Mary. She has helped me feel more confident but also taught me to have love and grace for myself as she had for me.

This is my second time with Mary and once again she’s been nothing short of amazing! She is there when you need her, she devotes her time to truly help you along your journey. Mary and I were a power team and she helped me validate my feelings and develop strategies to over come the conflicts I faced. I feel so much more confident after my sessions with her. Because of her I am ready to take on the world!
