About me

Hello. My name is Matt and I am a licensed psychologist with 14 years experience. My therapy style is empathic and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with compassion, sensitivity, and respect. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, client centered, and emotion focused therapies. I will tailor our therapy to meet your unique and specific needs. I am honored to be a part of your journey that comes through the therapeutic process of discovery and growth. I have worked with a wide range of presenting concerns including anxiety, depression, eating concerns, trauma, career concerns, couples counseling, grief/loss, life transitions, parenting/family concerns, biofeedback and sport psychology. I am also certified in biofeedback by the BCIA. I have primarily worked at 5 different university college counseling centers; and have also been in private practice for about 5 years.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and another Bachelor of Arts in Family & Human Development in 2001 from the University of Utah. I then received my Master of Arts in Family, Consumer, & Human Development from Utah State University in 2007. Then I completed my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University in 2012. I enjoy spending time with family & friends, sports, music, traveling, and the outdoors. I look forward to working with you.

Dr. Reiser does an amazing job of creating a safe environment where you can openly share your thoughts and feelings. He listens well to every detail and shares practical ways to solve issues. He also sends additional resources that offer helpful tips. I would highly recommend him to others!

I really enjoy talking to Dr. Reiser and it feels like he really cares about how I feel and what I have to say. I have been dealing with anxiety and he has taught me ways to understand how I am feeling and learn from it. Very easy to schedule with and always follows up with prompt responses.
