Megan Hedges, LPC
About me
Are you tired of searching for help only to find more barriers and judgement? Are you looking for support that aligns with a holistic worldview? Are you seeking a place of peace with a professional who can help you hold the heavy burden of what has happened to you? Have you tried forms of therapy that you heard were the "Gold Standard" and found they didn't work for you as expected? Or are you looking to understand what forms of therapy are out there and which one will work best for you?
Sometimes our experiences are so heavy and cause us so much pain that it can be difficult to keep going. I seek to offer you a safe place where your hope can be renewed and solutions can be found.
I offer refuge for people to tell their stories, process wounds, discover their inherent strengths and develop their voices. Starting the counseling process is a big step and sometimes you may not even know where to start. Some parts of our experiences cannot be accurately expressed through words. I offer you the tools and expertise to express yourself creatively in addition to more common methods such as EMDR and CBT.
If you are ready to break unhealthy patterns, bring light to difficult experiences and live your life more wholly, without the encumbrances of unresolved trauma and grief, please consider reaching out.
I am a trained art therapist and licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I studied at Drexel University in Pennsylvania and Saint Mary of the Woods College in Indiana where I interned in school, hospital and community mental health settings. My experience ranges from working in a domestic violence shelter, a cancer support agency and private practices. I've successfully worked with people of all ages and have been in practice for 4 years.
I look forward to learning more about you.
