Megan Thorry, LPC
About me
Hi! I'm Megan and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I have been working as a therapist for 9 years and have worked with a variety of ages, cultures, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I also have experience working with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, vocational issues, transitions in life, and family/relationship conflict.
My therapeutic style is most importantly providing trust and empathy to build a strong therapeutic relationship. I know what it's like to look for a therapist of my own and to build that therapeutic relationship. So I know how important that bond needs to be (on both sides) for there to be progress in the growth you're looking to make.
My approach to therapy is a mixture of cognitive behavior therapy, humanistic (person-centered), motivational interviewing, psychodynamic, and solution-focused therapy.
Everyone's experiences in life are different and it's important that you feel as if your experiences are important. I want you to have a genuine and authentic experience with a therapist and I hope that can be me.

I've been working with Megan for a year now and it's made me feel understood, empowered, and not alone. She is calming and comforting and gives great advice. She makes me feel like what I'm going through is okay and I'll get through it. I'm glad I found her!

Megan listens and responds very well and really knows how to get the things out of you that you need to talk about.

Megan has been a great therapist thus far. I feel comfortable sharing with her and her questions not only allow her to gain a better understanding of me but allow me to gain a better understanding of my feelings. I like the goals we set because they help me stay focused on improving while not feeling overwhelmed.

Megan asks the kind of questions that really makes you dive deep. It has only been a few weeks but I have hit a few “aha” moments already. She is compassionate.
