Hello! My name is Mehjabeen (Mehj) Aubol. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, and a National Certified Counselor located in Pennsylvania. I have a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and have about 9 years of experience working as a mental health counselor. I grew up immersed in more than one culture. I consider myself to have a strong cross-cultural understanding, and can relate to individuals who come from multiple cultures and backgrounds. My approach to counseling is always to get to know the individual first, understand their goals for counseling, and work with them as a team to help them get to where they desire to be in their life. I am always open to feedback and willing to try new methods or approaches that best fit the needs of each individual I work with, as every individual is unique!

My primary approach and training is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Mehjabeen Aubol is very sweet, listens well, and works towards a shared goal of progress which is very important to me. She's good at taking charge, but she's also good at stepping back and letting you take charge when you're comfortable to. Very good pacing, and does her best to give a bit of closure by the end of the session with "I'd like you to think on this for the next week, and tell me your thoughts and conclusions next time we get to talking" so you're not just leaving emotionally raw and without direction.

Mehj has honestly been a godsend for me. I’ve seen many different therapists and haven’t had much luck/success with them. She is very kind, responsive and respectful. Mehj has been one of the best counselors I've had the pleasure of working with, and I've seen so many therapists over the years. She's very considerate, compassionate, validating, and consistent. She's very mindful and accommodating. I really appreciated her support on the various subjects we covered. In the brief time that I have worked with her, I can say that it's very apparent that she genuinely cares about her clients. As someone who suffers from extensive emotional trauma and has been mistreated very badly throughout the course of my life, I really appreciated Mehj's gentle and sensitive approach with me. I don't know if I could ever find a counselor or person who is as kind and validating as Mehj. I cannot recommend and speak highly of her enough.

Mehj is great at catering the sessions to my needs. Unlike my old therapist, she takes proactive steps to identify what aspects of my life can be worked on. We have been making large strides together, and I can confidently say that I am better off now than I was before we met.
