About me
I am licensed in Arizona with 10 years of professional work experience. I have extensive understanding working with adults and children who have undergone traumatic events at various stages of their development. For 8 years, I have worked extensively with survivors of sexual trauma and their loved ones. I have experience working with populations ranging in age from 5-17, adults from 18-86, and couples.
My 20+ years of working in community behavioral health field has given me the honor of working with various populations including trauma survivors, chemical dependency, survivors of sexual abuse, mood dysregulation, children with disruptive behaviors and their parents.
My view of counseling is foster rapport and create a nonjudgmental environment while assisting the client with managing their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors to their body. I help clients learn and practice emotional regulation skills to obtain their highest level of functioning. I order to create individualized care, I pay attention to the client identities and cultural experiences (i.e. race/ethnicity, gender, class) to empower clients to identify and actively pursue their goals.
