Melody McArthur, LPC
About me
Hello! My name is Melody, and I am looking forward to working with you! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri with 5 years of experience as a counselor and about 20 years of experience working in social service agencies. I have worked with people experiencing crisis, significant mental health challenges, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other stressors. What I love most about counseling is being able to partner with my clients to support them as they use their own strengths and insights to work through the challenges they are experiencing. I use several counseling modalities and focus on building a therapeutic relationship together to work on the goals that you bring to our sessions. I am person-centered, non-judging, strengths-based, affirming and empathic. I look forward to working together!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Melody McArthur. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Melody is very patient and great at listening. Some would say, obviously, she’s a therapist. But some therapists only want to focus on specific concerns or only offer solutions. Melody always let me talk through a concern to figure out a solution that I wanted that was best for me. She offered suggestions but acknowledged when I either supported or denied them. She was very patient in listening to me ramble on and was able to paraphrase my concern or identify the issues in my rambling. She was also very encouraging in providing positive feedback and assurance. She could switch between each issue with my responses and could circle around and bring me back to the main point. All in all this was a wonderful experience and it was mostly due to Melody

Super positive and easy to talk to. She redirects me when needed to keep conversation flowing. Helps me help myself, doesn't just add solutions to my problems. I look forward to our talks and feel relieved after.

She has been a great listener, helping to slow my processing down, so I can hear where I am struggling. She then helps me come up with positive coping strategies and goals to improve areas of my life that I have been struggling with.
