Prof. Michael McGaugh, LPC
About me
I have about twenty years work experience in the field of mental health services, I have worked as an adult case manager in community support services. I have also been an intake specialist; but the one area I have found the most rewarding is working as a mental health counselor. I enjoy working with people in helping them to see issues and problems from different perspectives and helping them to make better choices that will help them with feeling better about themselves and to overcome their personal problems.
I hold advanced degrees in psychology and mental health counseling. From my education and work experience, I have found CBT and positive center approaches along with solution based therapy to be effective in helping clients to become more mindful along with helping them to build coping skills that they can utilize to help them to be more empowered in making healthy decisions in their lives.

Professor mcgaugh listens attently injects wisdom and guidance throughout the conversation and is supportive of me. He is kind and patient man and builds me up with his kind words. I have had a rough time recently and the proffessor has been there supporting me throughout. He is always available leaves messages when he can and I would really recommend him to anyone. His knowledge base is vast and I’ve had a lot of different kinds of conversations with him all therapeutic as he always supports and encourages me. As someone who has a hard time just being myself I find the professor has helped me grow in the short time I have been talking to him. Definitely recommend. It has been 8 months since we started therapy with Prof. Mike, and I'm willing to continue. I would like to say that you have been a great help, listening and understanding, directing and influencing the way I think and perceive things, showing me different perspectives that I wouldn't maybe be able to explore on my own. Thanks for being always flexible, responsive, and available... no matter at what time my outbursts and breakdowns strike!
