Michele Fitzgerald, LPCC
About me
Hello, I am Michele Fitzgerald and I started working with adolescents in substance abuse treatment in the 1980s. I have a rich work history including working in Kodiak, Alaska as well as Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition to substance abuse and mental health counseling, I have worked in adoption, birth parent counseling, and social work in a hospital and long-term care center. I appreciate the evolution of the Behavioral Health and Alcohol and Drug counseling fields which were treated at one time separately when I started my career. I view recovery as synonymous with wellness. I value the development of strength through adversity. I am a good match if you are looking for a counselor who is a good listener and views mistakes as opportunities to learn.
I am available on Thursdays from 4:00 - 8:00 pm if this works for you.

Michele and I have had two sessions and I think we're still in the "getting to know you" phase of the therapist-patient relationship. I feel she listens and has responded with insight and encouragement. Michele is getting to know me as I face some major life changes. She is empathetic, supportive, and listens to my concerns about certain therapeutic modalities.
We're vibin'. It's working.

Michele helped me reset and reboot after my mom’s death. She was easy to talk to, asked insightful questions, and was genuinely excited when I made progress. I would definitely work with her again, and recommend her to anyone recovering from a major setback in life. Thanks, Michele, you helped me so much.

Michele listens to me and hears me. She has helped me through the hardest parts of my grief and the self doubt. I feel like she will listen to what I have to say and help me through it, rather than dismiss my concerns.

I was extremely nervous for my first video session but as soon as Michele started the call I felt at ease. She is very understanding and easy to talk to.
