Michele Koenes, LCSW, LMSW
About me
Hello ~
I am a licensed Masters level Social Worker in Michigan, California & New Hampshire with over 10 years of experience. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with young adults, adults, and older adults with a wide array of mental health concerns.
I have also worked as a litigation attorney and as a teacher. These experiences have strengthened my abilities to relate, connect, and provide support to my clients.
My counseling style is one of collaboration and responsiveness. I am attuned to my clients unique and individual personalities, situations and needs. I believe that empathy and letting the client set the pace of therapy is imperative to an effective process and the realization of desired outcomes.
Therapy is a supportive, safe place where every aspect of you is welcome – even the parts that may be uncomfortable to share. As your therapist, I will strive to build and maintain a space for healing and growth.
I am ready to begin the process with you!

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Michele Koenes. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I didn’t realize that I had been receiving poor/inadequate/ineffective therapy for two years until I tried Better Help and found Michele! She has literally changed my life. My partner and four boys bare witness. I tried Better Help as a last ditch effort after a mental break down three years ago. Michele is compassionate and sees through the forest. In her, I have found a friend and an advocate, and a my most trusted guide through this time in my life. She has been through it, like most other therapists, but has an unbelievable ability to meet you where you are at, connect compassionately and remove some shame. She is helping me become a person again.

Michele is fantastic! She’s very warm and I was comfortable with her right away. She has a lot of really helpful suggestions and information that made talking to her feel like I had more solutions than I felt I’d had prior. Plus, she’s funny and it feels, to me, a bit like having a gab session with someone I’m close to. 10/10 would recommend.
