About me

Hello there!! My name is Michelle (Ms.) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with New York State. I have over 15+ years of experience treating individuals from young-adult to elder-adult life stages, and from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures. I've spent over 9 years primarily working in a jail-based setting, designing and conducting Dialectical Behavior Therapy based treatment groups and individual therapy sessions. I believe in unconditional acceptance and do no harm. I tend to have an adaptive approach to the therapeutic process as the client's needs evolve, and I will likely incorporate different therapeutic techniques and treatment combinations. Whether you just need a sounding-board, or want longer-term support, I will do my best to assist you and guide you through this part of your journey. I am currently offering more shorter-term and solutions-focused therapeutic services which can be adjusted based on therapeutic needs, and will include various grounding and mindfulness exercises as requested. Please note that I am currently available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Early morning, late night, or alternative day appointments may be available upon request. Feel free to review some of my experience points listed below and to ask me any questions. If you feel I might be a good fit for your needs, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Therapeutic techniques that may be used include; Psychoeducation, Mindfulness, Relaxation training, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, Crisis Management, Interpersonal Effectiveness and communication, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Humanistic Therapy, Solutions-focused treatment, Mock Interviews and Role-Playing, Motivational Interviewing, Reminiscence Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Processing, and Cognitive Skills Building.

I was nervous to ever go to therapy but Michelle is the reason I’ve stayed. The most amazing understanding and fulfilling experience I’ve ever had. Very helpful techniques and is never one to assume just there to listen and help and act like your best friend
