About me

I am a professional counselor, certified executive, and health coach. I have nine years of experience helping others overcome challenges and create purposeful, meaningful lives. I have worked with clients with various concerns, including chronic pain, chronic illness, stress, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship issues, family problems, and career challenges. Many individuals I have worked with have had traumatic experiences.

As a counselor and coach, one of my greatest strengths includes noticing and appreciating each person's unique characteristics. I do not treat everyone using the same approach because each person's response to stress, motivation to change, decision-making, relationship-building, and thinking styles are unique. As a result, I customize my approach accordingly. I draw from my extensive training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Neuroscience, Motivational Interviewing, Positive (Strengths-based) Psychology, Mind-Body Medicine, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to draw out the best in you.

I view the therapeutic environment as a safe place to explore relationships, whether those relationships are with people (family, co-workers, partners) or things (food or money). I also believe an important part of therapy is addressing the social, economic, and cultural influences on a person and that the therapy process should be collaborative, with the client seen as the “expert” on their life.

It takes great courage to take the first steps toward change, seek a more fulfilling and happier life, and determine your personal goals. But, if you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you on this journey to create your best life.

I look forward to working with you!

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Michelle Davis. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Dr. Davis is intelligent and insightful. She meets me where I am. I’m very lucky to have found her. She has made a huge difference in my life.

Written on Dec 19, 2023 after therapy with Michelle for 1 year and 1 month on issues concerning stress, anxiety, self esteem, and coaching

After feeling like a brick wall had been hit with my first therapist, I chose a new therapist. There were many good ones to choose from, but something about Dr. Davis' information made me think she would be a good fit for my needs, which at the time, included working through self-esteem, past relationship patterns, and childhood issues of feeling unlovable. She gave me focused attention, time, and resources to begin plowing through these issues. She listened, made me feel heard and understood, and prompted me to move in a direction of growth. I feel like she helped clear my brain, discarding worn-out patterns of behaviour and thought, and replacing them with healthy thinking processes. She is amazing, and you will be lucky to have her in your corner.

Dr. Davis is very personable and easy to talk to even if you are more reserved when it comes to the idea of therapy. She is a great listener but will also offer constructive feedback and tools to help work towards your goals.
