About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in the state of Texas and have 14 years of experience, with the last 6 of those years including clinical supervision for incoming licensed professionals. I have worked with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders and trauma. I have also worked with families and couples who are having parenting, relationship, or infidelity issues and LGBTQ+. A particular niche has also been to work with incoming college students (both young and old) in guiding them into a focused and clear college and career path.

My therapy style is gently, warm, and non-judgmental and I tailor sessions to each specific client. I primarily utilize Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I believe the best therapist will "work themselves out of a job" by empowering the client to become their own best ally instead of their own worst enemy. In other words, with proper support, I have complete faith in your ability to learn, grow, transform and rise above your current problems.

I am already proud of you for taking charge of your own mental health and taking positive steps for your future. I look forward to working with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Michelle Melton. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

One of the most genuine and supportive people I have ever spoken with! The past few months and years have been a struggle, and initially I was extremely hesitant to start therapy…however, working with Michelle has changed my life. Not only does she instill trust and guidance, but she offers tools to help guide and focus the healing and growth process. I am certain that I would not be here today if it weren’t for this perfect match in therapists. Absolute and complete trust. I feel stronger than I was before I started; more empowered than I have ever been…and this is only the beginning of my journey.

I've only had a couple of sessions with Michelle so far, but I can't wait for more! She is so understanding and nonjudgemental. I feel very comfortable telling her what is actually bothering me, whether it is considered a socially "taboo topic" or not. Thank you, Michelle, for helping me realize that I am normal & I can always work to improve myself!

Michelle was warm, welcoming, down to earth, and a great listener. She helped to validate my feelings and guide me with communication approaches to assist me in resolving conflict. She responded promptly to messages. Highly recommend!

Michelle is absolutely wonderful-- she'll be your biggest support and No. 1 cheerleader for you throughout your healing journey. Compassionate, intuitive, and empathetic she creates a safe space for you to be able to dive into your traumas and hurts, celebrates you every step of the way, listens intently, and responds so thoughtfully. She does a list of "take-aways" at the end of each session to help you keep track of your breakthroughs and what you learn in each session. Truly a wonderful therapist!
