About me

Hello!
My name is Michelle Price and I am registered as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor with the Board of Counseling  in Virginia.  I have over 13 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Positions that I have held in the counseling field include Clinical Program Manager of Counseling Services, Outpatient Services, Crisis Services, Intensive In Home Services and Therapeutic Day Treatment Services.
Counseling Background:
All of my counseling experience has been through community mental health services, as I enjoy working with a diverse population with various needs. My theoretical orientation comes from a cognitive behavioral (CBT) point of view. While this is the predominant modality that I utilize,  I do pull techniques from other models if they prove to be beneficial to the individuals I work with. I  enjoy using CBT in my practice because it is easy to grasp, very flexible to implement to the individual's needs and it is evidenced based (has been proven to be effective). Areas that I have received training in  include Trauma-focused CBT, Attachment Based Family therapy(ABFT), Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), and Al’s Pals. I have also been trained with administering the K-SADS.

I am so happy for you with taking the hardest step in counseling. Reaching out for help is not an easy task at all but it is the first step towards healing and finding peace. I do look forward to working with you in this new journey that you are about to take.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Michelle Price. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Michelle is compassionate, understanding, thorough, and always professional. She is also an excellent listener! I've been working with Michelle over the last few months to address anxiety and loss of confidence and it's been a very worthwhile journey.

Our sessions always begin on time and Michelle keeps our discussions moving in the right direction, focusing on a deeper level of understanding, while skillfully weaving our conversations between challenging or difficult topics to arrive at a place of understanding. I appreciate the time spent in our sessions and I look forward to each session as an opportunity to learn more about myself and some strategies that have been very helpful in managing my day to day life going forward.

I highly recommend Michelle to anyone looking for a compassionate, professional therapist to work through many of life's expected or unexpected challenges.

When I started therapy I was skeptical that it would help me. My main concern when starting was that I would be labeled as depressed (don't feel that I am) or that there isn't a reason for me to need a therapist. Now after doing it for almost seven months, Michelle has made me realize therapy is for anyone and that you don't need to have very serious reasons to need a therapist.

Michelle is great at her job and I am pleased with her methods and with Batterhelp as a platform, generally.

I’m thankful to have Michelle as my therapist. She has helped me reframe many toxic thoughts that were hindering my ability to manage my emotions. Talking to her has been very helpful this past year when facing multiple life challenges. She is also so nice and kind in her approach. I would recommend her to anyone.
