About me

Hello!
My name is Michelle Walsh and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2008 with my BA in social work. I graduated from Fordham University's advanced standing program in 2009 and earned my masters degree in social work and specialized in substance abuse. I have experience working in private practice, outpatient mental health clinics and have also worked in a homeless shelter as well. In addition I have experience working with veterans and their family members. In my ten years of experience I have enjoyed providing my clients with group and individual therapy. I have experience treating clients who have struggled with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance abuse issues, and relationship difficulties just to name a few. I also have a special interest in holistic treatment and modalities such as meditation and I am a certified Reiki Master as well. I believe that what is most important is the relationship and connection you have with the provider you are working with. I am looking forward to getting to know you and helping you identify areas of concern that we can work on together. I will be there to listen and support you but most importantly I will help you identify tools and resources you can utilize outside of our sessions that you can implement to help yourself.

After just two weeks of therapy with Michelle, I feel so much better, lighter, happier, and healthier. I have a smile on my face again. It’s so nice to look forward to talking with her because I know she is truly listening to me. We connect on so many levels and she understands my concerns about chronic pain. She has been making my first experience with therapy so positive!

Michelle is absolutely AMAZING! I’ve been a client of hers for almost a year and a half and she’s been such a great resource for me to work out my anxiety and daily stresses. Given how hectic the past 18 months have been, I’m confident in saying that I wouldn’t have been able to navigate the challenges I’ve been facing without Michelle’s guidance and expertise. If I could rate her an 11/10 I would!!

I’ve been working with Michelle for about 9 months now and I couldn’t be happier with her. I’ve worked with many therapists throughout my life and while I have considered several to be good therapists, I have never benefitted as much from those experiences as I have from working with Michelle. She is exceptionally competent, caring, reliable, and professional. I feel secure in knowing that I can reach out to her at anytime and she always responds within hours with a caring and helpful response. Additionally, we schedule weekly live chat sessions, which I have found to be incredibly helpful every time. In the time we have worked together, I have been able to decrease my depression and anxiety greatly, and increase my confidence. I am so grateful to Michelle for helping me to make so many positive changes in my life.

Michelle is by far the best counselor I’ve had. After every session I feel like I’ve learned something about myself and that I have a better understanding of how I can keep improving.

Michelle is compassionate, empathetic, patient, and kind. I really appreciate all the things she does to make sure I know that she’s available and accessible, esp. bc I don’t often reach out except for our meetings. She checks in on me in between meetings, and gives me good insight about my issues. I really appreciate her.
