Nadirah Burris, LPC
About me
Hi my name is Nadirah, I have been a school counselor for the last 7 years and an LPC since 2016. Are you taking care of your mental health? Have you ever felt helpless, like nothing you do is fun anymore? What do you like to do? Do you have any goals or projects you are working towards? Sometimes we get so caught up in just surviving that we forget what it is to live and thrive. Why are we doing what it is, that we are doing and how do we step off of the treadmill long enough to enjoy the moment? Just thinking about it all makes you wonder about your short-term and long-term goals. As your counselor, I will work towards helping you answer some of these questions and build on creating realistic expectations. Counselors advocate for their clients to stay on track for finding goals and objectives that will result in positive outcomes. Take control of your life and lead yourself where you would like to be now and in the future.

Nadirah and I connected from day one. I was lucky to have been placed with her. She’s understanding, doesn’t make you feel judged and you can tell she enjoys what she does.

She is an awesome counsellor. She is authentic, honest, and professional. I enjoyed our sessions and appreciated her advice and time. She seemed to genuinely care about me and she responded promptly and checked in with me frequently. She listens well and shared great insights and asked good questions that helped me frame my thoughts in the right direction as she made me feel at ease. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet her at the confusing time of my life.

I was apprehensive about getting counseling, but Nadirah made me feel very comfortable and supported. I felt that she genuinely wanted to help me, and provided good, practical advice. Nadirah was also very accommodating with the scheduling of appointments despite my being in Australia.
