About me

I am Natasha Jones Kinto (Lumbee) and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate in the state of North Carolina. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor. I completed my Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in May 2017. I have over three years of clinical experience in individual and group therapy.

I received a fellowship award to study addictions and to provide culturally competent counseling services for underserved populations. I have experience working with college students, young adults, adults and elders.

My theoretical orientation is Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I utilize a trauma-informed approach as well as Motivational Interviewing (MI) principles. My techniques focus on the client’s motivation to change, their irrational thoughts and effects on behavior.

I am person-centered and passionate about service to others. I have a biopsychosocialspiritual perspective to wellness that includes a holistic therapy style. My goal is to provide my clients with the tools that they need to live a balanced life.

Natasha has changed my life! I’m handling difficult situations more constructively. She is so supportive! I feel like I am able to trust her with all of my thoughts. I have never felt comfortable enough to attend therapy, and with Natasha’s help, I am able to trust this process of recovery. I am very thankful for Natasha.

Therapy is new to me.. like VERY new... FIRST TIMER NEW. I'm very guarded about letting people in and allowing people to know me so quickly or easily. I had one session with a different therapist before Natasha and contemplated going back to not doing therapy, because it just didn't feel right to me. Then Betterhelp paired me with Natasha. After competing m completing my first session with Natasha I felt a HUGE WEIGHT fall off my shoulders. It gave me hope and provided me with permission to NOT DO IT ALL ALONE. Which I'm 100% used to doing.
Thank You Natasha for making this very difficult step in the right direction much more relatable and palatable.

Natasha is not only an incredible listener but she prioritizes your well being above all. She works hard to understand the entire picture of what’s going on in your life and is such an advocate for you.
