About me
Hello! I am a 50+ year old man who is licensed in California with 7 years of professional work experience. (Being a therapist was a lifelong goal but a career shift that I made in my mid-40's.)
I have a broad range of experience working with couples, individuals, and groups. My expertise is in somatic psychotherapy, which includes nurturing the connection between mind and body. I also have tools, resources and experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, lgbtq+ related issues, relationship issues, & intimacy related issues. I also have experience working with compassion fatigue. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.
I don’t like to assign homework between sessions, but I feel strongly that if you’re only “doing therapy” for one hour each week, then results will not be surprising. For that reason, I help my clients find ways to take the work of therapy into their day-to-day lives and make it part of their overall self-care routine.
Personally, I prefer meeting my clients via video sessions, especially in the early stage of therapy when we are getting to know each other. However, I'm open to other forms of working together once we have established some protocol for communication.
When I'm not working, I enjoy brisk walks at the beach near my home, and playing with my four-year-old canine companion. Please feel free to ask any questions that would help you to determine whether we could be a good match together.
