Since day one, Nicole was kind and thoughtful. She gave me the space and time to cry and ride out my emotions when I became overwhelmed by them. Her presence and words are reassuring and allow me to feel like I'm heard and understood. She offers guidance and gives advice but does not push for me to take them and do as she says. She allows room for (self) reflection and gives me time to come to my own conclusions and realizations about myself. There are some painful truths I am learning, ones I have been denying for as long as I remember. But her patience and careful insights are helping to draw them to the surface so I can examine them without fear, but with acceptance. I am on a journey to discovering myself (my identity, my purpose/meaning in life) and learning how to heal my inner child and how to love myself in a way that is hopeful and kind and loving. It is a brave thing to take the step to find help. It is even braver for someone to sit with you through your pain and suffering and sadness. Nicole is patient and encouraging. But most of all, she is there for me (just a message away when a video chat session isn't available), listening and reading my messages and journal entries and responding to each and every one with care and compassion.
