About me
“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen."
- Brené Brown
My name is Nicole and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of New Jersey. Reaching out for help is a true act of bravery. If you are reading this, you are one step closer to changing your life for the better. Vulnerability can feel scary, but it is one of the most courageous actions we can take.
In my sessions, I use a combination of evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), person-centered therapy (PCT-CCT), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I use motivational interviewing to assess the stage of change of each of my clients and ensure their level of readiness for specific interventions.
My areas of focus include: depression, anxiety, ADHD, stress, inner-child healing, addiction, life transitions, relationships, body image, self-esteem, spirituality, trauma, grief, ecotherapy, attachment, identity exploration, sex, and communication. As someone who believes there is no one size fits all approach to therapy, I modify my therapeutic practice based on each individual’s needs.
My clients find me to be genuine, approachable, humorous, inclusive, and open-minded. From my observations, I've found that incorporating humor and authenticity into my sessions has assisted in nurturing a strong connection between my clients and myself. I hold the belief that fostering a non-judgmental environment establishes the necessary conditions for discussing deeply personal subjects. It is an absolute privilege to be trusted to hold space for the healing portion of your journey.
