Nicolle Waddy, LCPC
About me
I am a licensed and nationally board-certified clinical professional counselor. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, and I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminal Justice at North Carolina Wesleyan University. Additionally, I earned my Master of Business Administration at the University of Maryland and have over 20 years of experience in project management and business operations.
I’m a native and resident of Gorgeous Prince George’s and a proud graduate of Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland. I’m also a member of the Maryland Counseling Association and the American Counseling Association.
My primary focus is on diversity, inclusion, and equity for underrepresented and marginalized communities in the mental health field. I incorporate various interventions to help clients successfully reorganize their approach to problems, identify and stabilize their emotions, and develop concrete skills for eliminating stress and resolving conflict.
As a multidisciplinary professional, I see clients in private practice, outpatient mental health clinics, and correctional facilities. I also teach communication and problem-solving skills to couples. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I create an open space for all my clients. I work with my clients to create a safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
