Pamela (Pam) Skon, LICSW, LISW
About me
Welcome to Better Help! Making the choice to seek counseling is a difficult one and I am happy that you decided to reach out. Counseling can help you to build a more fulfilling and happier life.
There are a variety of approaches in counseling and I will work with you to find the one that works best for you. My counseling style is warm and interactive and combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic counseling styles. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Sometimes it takes talking to someone else to help you find your true potential, we all have strengths within ourselves.
I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in counseling in 2009 and hold a license in the State of Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, addictions, and career challenges. I also have helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.
It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!

Written on Aug 31, 2021 after therapy with Pamela (Pam) for 2 months on issues concerning depression, and stress, anxiety
Pam put me at ease immediately, even though I was new to BetterHelp and this format and was nervous about using it. She radiates kindness and acceptance, and helps me feel like problems are manageable. I really appreciate how she gives me tools for looking at things and understanding my feelings (instead of me just getting sucked into a black hole by them). I really loved getting to text with her first, and continue to appreciate the mixture of video sessions with keeping in touch by text between those sessions.

Written on Jul 01, 2021 after therapy with Pamela (Pam) for 3 weeks on issues concerning depression, relationship issues, family conflicts, grief, and coping with life changes
I have only had two sessions with Pam. Today, was very helpful. She helped me identify some things to work on and helped me to get perspective on what unhealthy stress does and some tools to use to address it.
