About me

My name is Pamela Johnson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have practiced as a psychotherapist for over ten years providing evidence based, effective counseling to help clients get through tough situations. I specialize in working with adolescent, teens, young adults(up to 25 years of age), and parents. I am trained in using Cognitive Behavior Therapy and I help clients understand how their thoughts impact their feelings and behaviors.

My perspective on human beings is that we are filled with resilience and that if we orient our thoughts positively, we can overcome the most adverse and traumatic situations.

I emphasize the use of positive thinking to help clients build resilience when faced with challenges in life. I strongly believe that remaining optimistic helps us better cope with our situations and optimism also assists us in our overall recovery process. It is my goal to help you increase your resilience and to equip you with the necessary skills to experience your best life.

I use strength-based approaches during counseling where I highlight the client’s strengths as a way to help them overcome and achieve. This has proven very effective as it increases the client’s belief in self by using historical and current successes or strengths.

My mission is to help my clients obtain the essential skills necessary to grow and reach their full potential. I truly believe that growth is the evidence of life and I would love to work with you to help you grow so that you can experience a fulfilled life.

I look forward to working with you.

Pamela has been wonderful. This is my second time using Better Help. My first time I had an unsatisfactory experience. I decided to try it again and was paired with Pamela. Pamela has truly made me feel cared for and I believe at the end of this journey with her I will have the tools to help in the future.

Pamela is very helpful, very positive, but not in a way that makes me feel like my feelings are invalid. Overall just feeling validated is really great.
