Philip Fritz, LCSW
About me
I am licensed in Georgia with 25 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, coping with addictions, relationship issues, motivation, self esteem, & confidence, etc.. I also have experience working with depression. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
Living a healthy and fulfilling life on life’s terms can be achieved if one takes the time to apply one’s strengths and their right of self-determination in mastering this goal. Mental health can often be a choice… When we choose to show kindness and demonstrate compassion to ourselves and others our wellness thrives. I am a licensed independent clinician. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a master’s in clinical social work (LCSW) as well as a masters in addiction counselling (MAC). I have been practicing various forms of social work and therapy for over 25 years and have a wide range of experience from practicing crisis counseling during 9/11 in NYC to working in inpatient psychiatric units utilizing brief therapies for those experiencing profound crisis – to championing those most vulnerable populations including children and the elderly. I have most recently worked with veterans suffering from depression, PTSD, anxiety and substance use disorder as well as other various co-morbid psychiatric diagnosis. I work with adults in a full spectrum of settings and modalities including but not limited to life coaching, brief talk therapy, crisis counseling, long term therapy and case management
I practice different types of clinical approaches including, but not limited to: Rational Emotive Therapy (RET), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) as well as Problem Solving Therapy (PST), etc. I believe the therapeutic alliance between a therapist and an individual will have a major impact on a successful outcome regardless of therapeutic approach. Utilizing a strengths perspective approach, I strive to empower individuals to live their best life and ultimately move toward fulfilling their full potential. I believe in actively listening as well as validating and supporting individuals in addition to offering tangible and concrete life skills to improve quality of everyday life. Life can be a challenge, let’s embrace it together.
