About me

When struggling in silence is considered one of your superpowers, seeking support can be filled with conflicting emotions. The emerging “self-care”, “fill your cup first” way of life can be in direct opposition with your culture’s longstanding pillars of “just work harder” and “just pray harder”. So, first of all, kudos to you for making moves toward adding necessary supports to the strengths that have kept you thus far.
I believe that you are an expert in your own life, even if you don’t always use that expertise effectively. I believe it is my job to provide you the time and space to take an honest look at your desired path and the supports to identify the strengths you possess to set you on it. At times, the people closest you may be offering the most loving support that they have to give. But they are just that, too close. This
professional counseling relationship will provide a space to voice feelings, thoughts, and even actions that you may not be ready to share with someone whose well-being is so closely tied to your own.
I am currently accepting new clients for live virtual sessions (teletherapy with video), including messaging. Life’s demands can keep us going well into the night, so I offered scheduling between the hours of 10am-10pm (as available). I understand that for some of us, being thrown into this virtual reality over the past couple of years can still be somewhat unsettling for services such as these. I assure
you that I am definitely a real person and a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas, and I will really be the person on the line with you. I started counseling as a graduate student in 2008 in the field of alcohol & drug abuse. Since then, I have had the opportunity to serve individuals, couples, families, and children with a myriad of concerns.
As a counselor, I will serve as a supportive professional working with you, not on you.
