About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Cognitive Behavioral Life Coach with 5 years of professional work experience. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a Concentration in Family and Child Services from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Social Work from Capella University. I hold the Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH) and Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP) credentials from the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE). I am a certified specialist in anger management and grief/loss. I have experience working with children and their parents or guardians in inpatient and outpatient treatment settings, providing individual, group, and/or family counseling, clinical-community linkage, and crisis intervention.

During the course of therapy, I foster a non-authoritative approach and I utilize Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). MBCT is a therapeutic approach which engenders a new way of being with painful emotions and challenging situations. MBCT is thought process-focused, and it is often used to help individuals who struggle with anger/aggression, anxiety, and depression. I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to therapy, thus, each session is tailored to fit your strengths, needs, abilities, and/or preferences. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.
