About me

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, my mission is to educate and empower individuals and families. My approach emphasizes advocacy, communication, and personal engagement, recognizing the unique genetic and cultural differences of each family, couple, child, and individual. My aim is to build enduring relationships within the community, families, couples, caregivers, parents, children, and on a personal level. I seize every chance to leverage my expertise for a positive social impact. My objective is to support families, couples, children, and individuals in overcoming their challenges, empowering them to enact lasting changes, and contributing to a thriving, productive, safe, and healthy community through one-on-one engagement. I am a firm advocate of holistic self-improvement, believing in the necessity of intentional daily life and self-betterment. My role involves equipping and empowering communities, families, couples, parents, caregivers, children, and individuals with the knowledge and skills to strengthen interpersonal relationships and pursue self-actualization in their personal lives, within the community, their families, as caregivers, parents, and children, using an educational, preventive, and strength-based approach.

With over a decade of experience aiding clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, and parenting concerns, I hold the conviction that you are the master of your narrative and possess numerous strengths that will aid you in surmounting your challenges. Initiating therapy requires bravery, and I commend you for taking that first step.

Personally, I identify primarily as an African American woman with deep spiritual beliefs, a mother of nine, and a Ya-Ya (grandmother) of seven. My life experiences, professional background, and education have equipped me to actively engage in advocacy, empowerment, and self-sufficiency for communities, families, caregivers, parents, and children, perpetuating a cycle of change to make a difference in the world.

I have noticed a big improvement in myself since I’ve been working with my therapist. It took some time for me to get to this point in my therapy journey. I am forever grateful for choosing the life that I want to live and showing up for myself In every capacity.

She has made me feel heard. She is helping me find the love in me where there were holes. Slowly but surely we are getting this patch work done to make me feel whole again. I am so grateful

Before I ever met my therapist, I was sent a worksheet about things that I needed in a therapist or things that’s a therapist, and I could discuss in our sessions. And the first message I received from her, was explaining to me about myself and my external validation that I need to feel good enough. It is really great that my therapist pin points things that need help or healthy boundaries or for me to be understood. My therapist is really helping me achieve my goals, understand myself better and giving me my confidence in my power back.

Mind blowing and life altering. Rachel has helped me realize so much about myself in just a couple sessions. From the first session I have felt safe to be vulnerable . Although I’m not where I want to be in my healing journey I’m also not where I was a few weeks ago.
