About me

I am a person-centered therapist who believes in the potential in each individual. I have worked with individuals from highly varied backgrounds and work to see the potential for growth in each person. I have experience teaching, training, and providing therapy for individuals of all ages. I help largely through helping people find their motivation, self-worth, and potential in order to solve issues ranging from past traumas to current dilemmas.

Through my career to this point I have been trained in Motivational Interviewing, Mediation, Thinking for Change, and Clinical Hypnosis. In session I also use techniques ranging from CBT, Adlerian psychology, and more. My experience has often involved individuals struggling with severe mental illness, substance use/alcohol use disorders, trauma, PTSD, and domestic violence. I have also done work with individuals working on parenting skills for typically developing children as well as those with developmental/intellectual delays.

I am married and we have two sons.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Rachel Tiede. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Rachel has a wonderful presence about her. She asks very deep and thoughtful questions. She challenges you in a gentle and kind compassionate way. Her manner feels like an ocean blanketing over you, beckoning you to come out to sea, and the sea in this instance are the issues that you’re dealing with in your life and might be afraid to face. She guides and helps you; supporting you through that process. She is your lifeboat. She stays near by for support but allows you space for your independence. She is like a lighthouse. Can you be a boat and a lighthouse? She’s very good at helping. That’s been my experience.

I like her…she’s very sympathetic and empathetic. She offers sound advice and asks pertinent questions. I’ve told a few friends about my experience and my thoughts on my therapist. I think I was matched perfectly. Only wish sessions were a bit longer.

I started working with Rachel on April Fools Day a while back. The decision to start and especially to continue with this relationship has been far from foolish.

Through the commitment that Rachel has consistently shown me, I can now say that I am able to trust much more than when we started. Per recent testing, my symptoms of both dissociation and PTSD are decreased. I attribute my willingness to pursue EMDR with another practitioner to the positive relationship Rachel had taught me how to build with myself/herself. I have entrusted some of my deepest, darkest secrets to Rachel and she did not shove me aside in disgust. Instead, she honestly admitted that she didn't have training in some of my experiences but was willing to do her best to assist me in finding help elsewhere. Thus, I have responded to the trust she has shown in me by returning that trust as I've been capable.

When this student was ready, Rachel the teacher appeared.

I've only had a couple sessions with her but I already love her! She is AMAZING!!!! When I read her bio and fields of expertise, I knew Better Help made the perfect choice for me. She got me to open up in the first session about something that I've never discussed and it was cathartic. I look forward to more sessions with her.
