Rebecca Gibson, LPC
About me
In a therapeutic relationship, it’s not “about me” - it’s about you. It’s about listening deeply. It’s about asking the right questions and holding space for precious silence. It’s about utilizing a diverse range of clinical skills and life experiences to assist you with what is happening in your life right now, and teaching you skills that will allow you to help yourself in the future. From my deep treasure chest of therapeutic techniques I strive to “create a new therapy for each client” (following the guidance of renowned psychotherapist Irvin Yalom), helping you to discover what works best for you.
I have been a licensed professional counselor in Texas since 2001, but my first counselor training and internship was in Austin in the 1980’s. Since then I have explored a wide variety of approaches with a focus on somatic and experiential interventions for stress, pain, trauma, addiction and healing relationships.
Now, pause for just a moment before you go. Take a deep breath, hold it, add a big stretch, and let it go. Feel your feet, wiggle your toes. I hope that you find the help that you are needing in your life right now, and if you choose to work with me as your therapist I will be honored, and always give you my best.

While I have had a few therapy experiences in my life, Rebecca is by far the best. She listens intently and offers real, relevant and applicable advice and possible solutions. I am appreciative of her time and care she has taken with me so far in this journey. For the first time in a long time I feel like I can actually deal with the issues with which I have been presented in my life.

Rebecca is very compassionate and validating. When I talk to her, I feel heard and after we speak, I feel a sense of relief. Knowing I will be able to talk to her each week to process what I’m going through helps reduce my anxiety.
