About me

Hello. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a broad range of experience of over 35 years. I have found that when people reach a personal life impasse, they often benefit from developing increased self-understanding and an outside impartial opinion.

My primary interest is in providing Humanistic and Problem
Solving counseling; helping resolve the difficulties of Life Transitions: Family Separations (Divorce, Child Custody/ Reunification); Career changes; Marital and pre-marital; and Blended families. My clients learn to understand and resolve Depression and Anxiety and Grieve the Loss of loved ones. I am a consultant in areas of Couple Communication, and Parenting; with First Responders; USA Military Service Members and their families.

My approach is Humanistic/Cognitive/ Interpersonal; Learning to cope with Traumatic Life Changes. Throughout my career, I have worked in community Mental Health centers, and on crisis teams. I provide the most useful guidance through guiding the development of Self-Awareness, Self-Acceptance, and Independence; Finding One's Strengths and Coping Skills, while improving Communication. I value the impact of Positive Psychology as well as Mindfulness Meditation; Expressing Gratefulness.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Richard LeGassick, Ph.D.. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Dr. LeGassick has a very soft approach and I feel hears, seen, and understood by him. After each session he always gives me some kind of tools, or homework, or some solution to everhthing we talked about. I would recommend him for sure!

To be honest, I really am not a fan of Psychologists in general. I found most to be pretentious or bent on pushing their own ideals and beliefs on their patients. I've had many "one and done" appointments with other providers. Dr. LeGassick couldn't be any different. He listens to your issues, REALLY thinks them over, then offers insights as to how to look at a situation. He doesn't push his own agenda but provides you thoughtful analysis to allow you to come to your own conclusions about your individual situation. His experience obviously serves him incredibly well.

Dr. LeGassick Is great. He lets me talk and he listens intently. When I’m done he tells me what he heard and we address any opportunities or talk about how to approach situations. He has helped me find myself and my voice!

I don’t know what to say about this incredible man. He has saved my life and most importantly his compassion and understanding know no bounds. I am forever grateful and will continue with him as long as possible. He is a gift.
