About me

I am currently closed to new clients.
"Help me." "I need to change..." These were two common statements from clients of all ages while I was in private practice for 11 years in Texas. I specialized in working with families with children and adolescents. I wrote books and spoke at seminars to help teens and their families. Now with over 20 years of experience my greatest satisfaction comes from helping clients with a wide array of issues focusing on making positive change happen.
Now, I am available online to help you change your life. My "prized" evening spots are limited to 16 (there's only one of me), but I do work 11am - 9:15pm during the week (offering 45-minute sessions only).
My diverse training allows us, together, to ascertain problems, develop goals, and set a realistic timeline for improvement. Each treatment plan is different for each client. My training as a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Texas has allowed a deeper understanding of how you interact with those at home, at work, or at school. My "down-to-earth" conversations can even help your children or partner improve. My holistic approach can even incorporate your religious values.
Let's talk about how we can change your life.

Richard is very attentive and offers suggestions and alternate options that I had not thought of at all.

He's been great! This is my first jaunt into therapy of any kind and he's made it very approachable. I appreciate his evenness especially since I am a bit all over. He's thoughtful and offers relatable advice.

Richard is a great listener and I like the way he makes me feel comfortable in being my true self. I would especially recommend him for anyone looking to be able to have a robust dialogue about challenges or to check in on progress on a goal or task. He doesn't hesitate to offer suggestions or, more likely to ask questions that help me discover insights.

He makes it easy to share and really helps validate my thoughts and feelings. I’ve met many of my initial reasons for beginning therapy.
