About me

I am a licensed mental health therapist in the state of Georgia with over 5 years of experience working as a clinical mental health therapist. I have a Bachelor's degree in Communications and my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, Bi-polar, Schizophrenia, OCD, ODD and ADHD. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My counseling style has always been focused on building a strong therapeutic alliance with my client. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My motto is that we all have bad situations in life (death, abuse, divorce, etc.) that we experience in life that can trigger some negative thoughts, emotional feelings, etc. and it is important to respond to these situations in a healthy manner or we tend to stay in that negative space longer than we ever intended. I have been there. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, DBT, rational-emotive counseling, and client-centered therapy. My goal is to walk with you through your healing journey as you take steps towards accepting but not allowing challenging events to define who you are and take control of your life.

I realize that it is not easy to admit that you need help, but that is the beginning of change!! If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!

I’m still working with Robert Turner but he has already helped me tremendously in my battle against anxiety and depression. Robert is an excellent listener and takes the time to really understand both my challenges and myself as an individual. I feel comfortable sharing difficult topics with Robert and can count on him to provide thoughtful guidance and compassion. Robert is skilled at recognizing when I’m in an anxious or depressed mood during our sessions and helps steer the conversation back to the issues at hand. I would highly recommend working with Robert as a therapist.

Robert Turner is an excellent listener and so easy to talk to. Somehow he makes you feel like you're talking to a wise friend instead of a counselor, and I thoroughly enjoy our sessions. He offers alternative perspective to my own way of thinking which is something I respect and clearly need in my life!

I was nervous about getting to open up to a stranger but Robert has made this such a safe space and I am opening up more and more each week

I have thoroughly enjoyed every session with Robert. From the first session through to the last, he has consistently been very committed to understanding me and showing up for me. His helpful guidance has meant that I have come away from every session feeling that some sort of progress has been made. Robert is able to bring his cheerful character into each session which allows for a greater sense of reassurance and calm and makes the experience of therapy a lot more comfortable. I can tell that he is genuinely passionate about what he does and it's been an honour to be in his presence.
