About me
Unveiling Inner Harmony: My Holistic Therapeutic Approach
As an experienced mental health professional, my therapeutic practice is firmly rooted in humanistic principles. I value the inherent worth and dignity of each person, focusing on delving into subjective experiences and embracing a client-centred philosophy.
Central to my practice is a strong emphasis on empathetic understanding, unconditional positive regard, and authentic interactions. Drawing from my training in Transactional Analysis and Gestalt Therapy, I aim to establish a secure and supportive space where clients feel listened to, validated, and empowered to address their obstacles.
A key aspect of my approach involves exploring the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. Picture your mind as a vibrant community, where different parts interact, sometimes harmoniously, other times in conflict. Each part plays a distinct role and has a voice, akin to characters in a complex story, influencing your thoughts, emotions, and actions. My role is to guide you through this inner world, listening to and comprehending each part, facilitating their journey towards harmony and collaboration.
I am trained and practised in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a cutting-edge technique that has enabled me to support clients in navigating trauma, anxiety, and related issues. EMDR aids individuals in processing their most challenging experiences, empowering them to lead more fulfilling lives. This therapy triggers the brain's natural healing mechanism through bilateral stimulation, like alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps.
My clinical profile extends to overseeing clinics for an NHS Trust in southeast England, where I formulate and implement treatment plans and care strategies for individuals grappling with mental health issues. Additionally, I am a member of the planning committee of the International Humanities Conference, underscoring my belief in the deep link between mental health and the broader human experience.
Fundamentally, my approach is grounded in tailored care, acknowledging the uniqueness of each person's journey. Through collaboration and empathy, I establish a secure environment for clients to delve into their emotions and obstacles, catalysing enduring positive transformations. With well over 25 years of experience with a commitment to equilibrium, harmony, and well-being, I am dedicated to providing expert assistance as you navigate your path towards recovery, rejuvenation, and healing.

Rob is a great therapist! He led me to explore my inner parts and address underlying issues from childhood that have never been addressed in such a way with other therapists in the past. He takes into account the spiritual aspect of our journey through life that is often ignored in Western therapy. Highly recommend for anyone dealing with trauma or complex trauma.

I’m extremely happy with Robert as my therapist, this is the first time I’ve felt someone understands what need and what I have been through and why I react the way I do, I’m so glad I found him and I’m very confident he will be able to help me.

Robert is a wonderful therapist and shows that he really cares and really does listen to what you have to say. He's always on time and always keeps you in the loop if for some reason he can't make it. He's helped me a lot through my traumas and beliefs about myself and really helped my confidence going forward.

Like the lovely uncle you never had and open enough to explain something where it is needed and stay silent when that is the best way forward.
Smart as a fox, kind and wise as an old elephant and as strong as a gorilla when you need holding… if anyone can this man can…
