About me

Hello!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 15 years of experience in mental health, serving people with a wide variety of needs and backgrounds.

I believe you have a right to be heard and be yourself. To me, that means being able to talk without fearing stigma, judgment, or a secondary agenda. Therefore, you can rest assured I give you a space where you’ll be welcome as you. Everyone has different needs, and my style is to work together to find the best approach for you. We’ll look at what you want, what works for you, and the best way to reach your goals. I’m always open, and if you wonder what we’re doing, I’m happy to let you know. I never have a hidden agenda.

I enjoy working with members of alternative beliefs and non-believers. I happily work with individuals from any faith or spiritual perspective; however, if you specifically need Christian Counseling, I recommend reaching out to one of BetterHelp’s Christian Counseling specialists.

My approach is to use a combination of Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Informed Care. I have a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, an LPC license in Missouri, I’m a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and I hold a certificate in Disaster Mental Health.

In considering help, you’ve made a big step towards a better life, and it took strength and courage to make it here. It would be an honor to take the next steps together.

Robert is very insightful. He offers support and compassion and has a wealth of knowledge.

Written on Oct 29, 2024 after therapy with Robert for 2 years and 10 months on issues concerning depression, stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, grief, self esteem, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue

Therapy with Robert Schneider has completely changed my perspective on going to therapy as a whole. I had tried several different counseling and therapy services and just struggled to feel like anyone was hearing what I was saying. Robert not only listens and understands, but he creates an environment in which I am comfortable enough to say something if it seems like he is off base. He is great about explaining how he comes to decisions about what path we should take and at breaking down the complicated paths our thoughts can take. He has gone above and beyond and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

First non-Christian therapist I have found who is also mildly occult in interest.

Robert is the real deal. He provides constructive, practical advice and isn’t afraid to call me out when I’m not being honest with myself. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Robert to anyone. He is far and away the best counselor I’ve been had.

I had been nervous to get into therapy my whole life. A big part of that equation was fear that I wouldn’t find a therapist who cared, or understood how to help me. Robert Schneider has already fulfilled every hope that I had in finding a great therapist and I plan to continue working with him for quite a while. Thanks Robert!
