Roberto De Giorgio, LMFT
About me
Hello, I'm Roberto De Giorgio, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Utah. I have been providing therapy to individuals and couples/families, for over 6 years. As a former Foster Parent and having adopted 3 children through the foster care system, I have developed a strong passion for healthy family bonds, healthy attachment, and for helping families be successful.
As a therapist, I strongly believe in the power of collaboration, and I'm very client-centered. I will always do my best, to learn about you, giving you a warm and safe space where you are free to be as vulnerable as you need to be, in order to explore your goals, dreams, and aspirations, while working on changing what is keeping you stuck.
I employ a variety of techniques and theories depending on each individual case, namely: Gottman Approach for Couples, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (a strong passion of mine), and Solution Focused Approaches.
My clinical experience enables me to work on a variety of issues, including Substance Use Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, and a certified Domestic Violence Counselor in the State of Utah, I'm also able to work on issues related to Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence.
Should you choose to embark on this journey with me, please know that I will provide a safe and nurturing space to help you become the best version of yourself. I will never judge you, and will always strive be be compassionate, and most importantly listen to you, and offer a collaborative approach to our work together.
I really look forward to chatting with you, and to get to know each other better!

Roberto always takes the time to deeply listen to what I am saying. He also makes the effort to understand me and where I am coming from. He has a great deal of passion and compassion for the work he does and helping others. It is of great value to me. Thank you Roberto!!

Roberto is fantastic. He takes my concerns into consideration and appropriately responds to the concerns and addresses them in a way that is helpful and useful to other situations as well.

Before starting therapy I was really down in the dumps. I did drag my feet with doing therapy because I just got into the thinking, "Oh it just be like that". I didnt want to do anything, I had negative thoughts all the time. However going to therapy, talking about ways that I might feel a bit better and actually taking action and doing these things has really helped me. Now I feel a lot more confident, I am learning more about all the things I can and cannot do. Im super glad that Ive been going to therapy and Mr. Giogio has helped me out sooo much. That's because the brain is like any other organ or limb, it gets injured or damaged and you need to be sure to take care of it. So if you are contemplating whether or not you should have therapy, I would say definitely do it.

Roberto was an amazing therapist. I started therapy because I was feeling lingering guilt towards an event from my past. Roberto helped me find the resolution I was seeking, and taught me strategies I can use if I find myself in a similar state of mind in the future. Roberto was non-judgmental and sensitive, yet direct, when addressing my past trauma. I worked with Roberto for 2 months -- he didn’t waste time or ramble in our sessions, and we were able to address my issues efficiently. I also appreciated Roberto’s sensitivity to religion. Religion is important to me, but I didn’t want it to be the primary focus of my therapy. Roberto told me that he was happy to discuss spirituality when I wanted to bring it up, but he wouldn’t bring it up himself. I would recommend Roberto to anyone!

Roberto was my therapist for 8+ months altogether. I felt so much healing take place during this time. He was kind, supportive, validating, and helped me undo the beliefs I internalized from my childhood trauma. My life would not be what it is now. I believe he was a gift from God into my life. Roberto helped me break down walls I've had since I was a child, he helped me begin loving myself again, he helped me restore my faith in God once more and I was raised anti religious. Roberto helped me along a journey of internal healing and helped me discover freedom for the first time in my adult life. I'm so grateful for Roberto and his help. Thanks to him, I have learned how to be self sufficient in how to approach a problem that comes up, with love, and work through it. This has helped my relationship with myself, my husband, and how I view myself as a mother. A complete transformation. I cannot express my gratitude for his help in my life, it was exactly what I needed. I am eternally grateful.
