Robyn Petersen, LCSW
About me
Hello my name is Robyn Petersen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oklahoma. I have provided therapy and case management to clients for 16 years. I have both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work from Missouri State University. I am an Air Force veteran and currently work for the VA serving veterans with Serious Mental Illness. I have experience working in hospice, community mental health, child welfare, and on an inpatient geriatric psychiatric unit
I use a strength-based approach and believe that everyone's journey is different and requires an individual approach.
My therapy style is open and genuine. I believe in treating all clients with respect, dignity and compassion. I prefer to assess for a client's strengths and build upon the tools that a client already has. Clients are more successful when they feel supported and validated by the therapist.
I have experience working with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, caregiver stress, veteran issues, adjustment disorders, end of life issues, aging and geriatric issues, trauma, dementia including Alzheimer's. I use various types of treatment modalities within the therapeutic setting to include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Taking the first step is always hard let me help guide you on your journey to mental wellness.
Thank you,
Robyn Petersen, MSW, LCSW

I have worked with Robyn for about a year and have enjoyed our time together. She has seen me through a lot of transitions, helping me to navigate them and the overwhelm that so much change challenged me with. She was relatable and kind. She is just what I needed.
