About me

From time to time, life presents itself as a series of obstacles with some higher than others. I prefer to see problems as a positive challenge to embrace life and seek positive growth that we can do for ourselves. Seeking help is hard enough, and it's my job to ease the process by offering my clients a warm, empathetic, and safe place to address their challenges. If you are struggling with a particular issue, or prefer a safe place to express yourself, I am happy to help you explore your issues.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina since 2007 (we were originally called Licensed Professional Counselors, but that changed a few years ago). During my career, I have worked with adolescents and adults. In any therapeutic interaction, it is important to initially develop a relationship with my clients to develop an environment that promotes empathy, understanding, and support. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, various approaches drawn from Narrative Therapy, Redecision Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing strategies. We will discuss these approaches to match your needs and preferences while we are in session together.

My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, chronic pain and health issues, trauma, bereavement, disability-related issues, and adjusting to many of the challenges that life presents us. I use a client-centric approach (meaning YOU are the expert on you) that will allow you to identify your strengths and abilities.

I look forward to meeting you and speaking with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Ronald Wells. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Ronald is a great therapist, my journey of self-improvement and self-discovery has been satisfactory and amazing… I initiate the therapy with a broken heart and I expected to heal but I never expected to become a better person in general. Ronald is understanding and kind whereas at the same time has a firmness that helps me to move forward. Also, Ronald has a unique understanding of LGTBQ people a relationships which is great, beside an incredible insight of Latin American culture and perspectives.

Ron is great at what he does. He listens without judgement but also offers guidance and opinion where appropriate. He is exceptionally responsive as well.

No matter my schedule due to work or otherwise I always have a therapist on hand even it is once a say in some cases. The therapist sending a message first can be a bonus. Knowing that I might be struggling and my therapist not know but them magically popping up makes me laugh. I would recommend this service overall because it wherever I go.
