Ruth Hagemann , LPC
About me
Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia with over 15 years of experience. I have had the privilege to work with a diverse population and in a variety of settings which include a university counseling center, community mental health, and a residential facility. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, career issues, relationship issues (family conflict, partner conflict, trust issues & poor communication), trauma (sexual assault, domestic & emotional abuse), self-confidence, self-acceptance, and LGBT issues.
My counseling style is personable, compassionate, and non-judgemental. I will always show empathy, respect, understanding and support. I typically use a person-centered approach combined with cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution focused. I also use a strengths-based and positive psychology approach when working with individuals. Together, we would work to develop a plan that is tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Life can sometimes leave us feeling stressed and uncertain. You are not alone on your journey. I greatly appreciate the courage required to seek support for a more fulfilling life. Change can be scary but it can also be wonderfully empowering. If you are ready to explore what has held you from experiencing life more fully, I am here to support and empower your efforts and I look forward to working with you!
