Samantha McEwan, BACP
About me
Hi, I am a licenced and BACP registered cognitive behaviour therapist, counsellor and mental health nurse in Scotland, UK. I have over 20 years experience working in mental health and experienced in helping clients with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, confidence, assertiveness and boundaries, relationship and attachment problems, stress and panic, emotion regulation problems, career challenges, bullying, burnout, trauma and abuse, and complex PTSD.
I offer a safe and supportive space, where thoughts and feelings can be expressed in confidence, without judgement. I use the active approach of CBT counselling and related therapies where appropriate, such as Mindfulness Based CBT, Trauma focused therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy, to help clients reach their goals, reconnect with their sense of self and move forward in life with new meaning and purpose.
Previous clients have fed back on how they have benefited from my warm, welcoming and professional approach, whilst also quickly getting to the root of issues and enabling positive progress and change. It is always a privilege to be alongside my clients on their journey.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Samantha McEwan. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Samantha makes me feel seen, heard and understood in our sessions and in our communications between sessions. She asks me questions which are so relevant to my situation and encourages me to think about what's really important, especially those things that I might have shied away from thinking about or discussing with other people.
She has set a really good pace in our conversations - my thoughts and feelings are quite complex, and I don't feel rushed to make any decisions or come to a conclusion.
As someone who is very open in sharing my feelings with friends and family I was a bit sceptical about how helpful talking therapy would be for me, but I am definitely feeling the benefits.

Samantha is great! Knows how to approach the sessions in a way that I can figure out the answers by myself instead of just giving me one. Would definitely recommend!
