Samuel Koolhoven-Moore, LMHC
About me
Hi, my name is Samuel. I am licensed in Florida with 5+ years of counseling experience with specialties in LGBT+/queer issues, autism, ADHD, family conflicts, and trauma. It takes a lot of strength and bravery to reach out and ask for help.
I believe in treating clients with compassion and an understanding of the context of their lives. If you're struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, anger management, relationship or family conflict, parenting, or navigating the challenges of society, I want to help. I take an eclectic approach using person-centered, systems, trauma-informed, and CBT evidence-based frameworks while drawing from a variety of styles for the coping skills and techniques best suited for you, individually.
It's important to have a counselor who will take into account your worldview and experience, including how that's affected by neurodiversity, race and culture, disability, gender, and queer identity, as well as the intersection of these.
I am here to offer a safe atmosphere where you will not be judged for who you are or what you feel, and to help you build up skills in order to better the quality of your life like you deserve.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Samuel Koolhoven-Moore. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
He is very understanding and quick to respond, but also very patient and willing to sit and help you say what you need in order to provide better care. He's also really good about trying to understand you specifically, any hobbies and stuff that you want to talk about that he doesn't know about beforehand he'll usually do some research on or ask you about and it's pretty great. He's friend shaped

Samuel is wonderful!!! He provided the opportunity to feel heard. He took the time to learn the context of the items we were working through. I so appreciate his time, understanding, and helpful space that he has created. Thank you!
