Sandra Chauhan, LCSW
About me
It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to help clients in the great state of Indiana. I practice from an individualized approach to meet the unique needs of each person, couple and family that I work with and believe psychotherapy is a way of reclaiming our painful experiences and accepting them without allowing them to define us. When working with clients I strive to make the therapy experience genuine, positive, respectful, and safe for everyone. I know that you are the expert of your life experiences and have many strengths that you may not be conscious of that together we will identify and develop in order to overcome any obstacles.
I have been practicing as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 29 years, and I received my MSW from the University of Pennsylvania and did a post-graduate certification program in marital, family and sex therapy from the Penn Council for Relationships. I have worked for Better Help for almost 3 years. I utilize a combination of theoretical approaches that I believe will help you to achieve your treatment goals and take an intersystems' approach to a couple's and family dynamics. I collaborate with the individual, couple and family to meet you where you are and set goals for where you would like to be.
For the past 16 years, I have been working full-time with Veterans, Active Duty Service Personnel, and their families, helping them to regain their purpose in life and create a new mission for themselves, as military duty and combat changes people. I, also, enjoy working with caregivers and persons with disabilities, as I am the proud mother of a sons with special needs. I work with individuals, couples and families with current mental health issues that are inhibiting them from living a fulfilled life.
It takes the courage and strength to ask for help. If you are ready to do the introspective work that it takes to start feeling better, have healthier relationships, and a more fulfilling sex life with your significant other(s), I am here to support and empower you through this journey. I look forward to meeting and working with you soon!

I have only had a few sessions with Sandra so far but she has done a phenomenal job of balancing the "challenge" that I need to grow with the support that I need to succeed, and she has already started giving me tools that I can use in the day-to-day struggles I have and has encouraged me to practice them.

Sandra, has been wonderful to work with, she is so supportive to me , I think she has gone above and beyond the call. I have a great deal of respect for her. I trust her so much, she has not asked me to do anything that has not been beneficial to me, Even doing a journal. Anyone would be lucky to have Sandra as a Therapist

She is such a good listener, you can tell she has a very caring heart. She works with your schedule. She gives tangible activities to address the things you’re trying better about yourself, and she really pushes you to meet your goals, but in a gentle way. She checks to make sure you’re making progress too and helps when you’re stuck.

Cannot praise her highly enough. She really helped me address some trauma and past experiences that I didn’t realize were still affecting me. She has a kind but firm approach that worked well for me. She pushes when it’s necessary and encourages when it’s necessary. I feel blessed to have found her.
