Sara Rayes, LMSW
About me
I completed my Masters of Social Work at Wayne State University. I am a fully licensed clinical social worker. I have been working with individuals, couples and families since 2018. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but have experience with other therapy styles as well. I have worked with people who experience MDD, GAD, BPD, ADHD, PTSD, DMDD and symptoms that may not meet full diagnostic criteria but are still looking for therapy.
I aim to provide client-led, strengths-based services. I want you to feel welcomed, comfortable and in charge of your mental health. I can provide structured sessions with home-work to complete between sessions or more relaxed and flexible appointments that do not follow a set agenda. Your health and safety is my number one concern.
Looking forward to meeting you!

An absolute delight, full of interesting suggestions when it comes to coping skills and I have been in and out of therapy for years. She's a great listener and very kind with a positive calming presence. Her willingness to send me little reminder messages in between therapy sessions is also a really cool. I've never had that with a therapist before. I feel like it provides an extra layer of support and accountability. I feel like I can be totally candid with Sara about some of the darker sides of my life and open about my more alternative lifestyle without judgment. She is one of the better therapists I've had over the years.

After several therapists that I just could not connect with, Sara has been awesome in making me feel understood.

Sara has been the best therapist on this planet! I’ve worked with others and they just don’t connect with me as much as Sara does. I suffer from Bipolar 2 and even though she doesn’t have it, she genuinely understands my symptoms and makes me feel not so alone in this journey. I really don’t know what I would do without her

Sara is very easy to talk to. She offers helpful advice that can be put to practical use in daily life when mental challenges and strains are tough to cope with. My weekly sessions have given me validation and power within my relationships and I am no longer someone who is easily taken advantage of. I am able to confidently stand up for myself without the fear of hurting others that are close to me and I put myself first now instead of putting the needs of others before my own. Thanks Sara!
